Stormboyz... hooooooooooo!

I dare not reveal all, but I really like these dudes. Comments always welcome.

First: Group shots!

And the other four individuals!

(Editor's note: Man, it's funny how bad you think your stuff looks when it's like 4 or 5 times normal size. I don't know how the pros do it. Better lighting and photography must play a big role. Not to mention they're all amazing painters. Oh well... I've gotta start somewhere.)

TEASER!!!!

Wow, I got stuff done! Here's a lil teaser for what's to come for this month's "Tale of a Buncha 40k Gamers".

So while working on my stormboyz tonight I was doing another side project... a retinue member for an Inquisitor. This fella can be either a mystic or sage I figure depending on whether witch or daemon hunter.

And here he is doing some math!

I think I may wash the robe in red still for better blending. I tried Ogryn Flesh for the first time. Works well, very similar though less metallic then the old flesh wash.

No pictures of my boyz yet. I've only been working on the skin, slowly. It's gonna be a tough month. I wish I didn't get some caught up in other painting. Oh well, I will get them done fo shizzy. I think they'll look pretty swell too.

I've started my orks for the local Tale of 40k Gamers contest we have going on! 250 points a month for 6 months leading to a big old, fully painted 1500pt round robin battle. Here are some pictures of the minor work I've done. Some jump packs in progress for my stormboyz... and then the stormboyz and Zagstruk themselves. I put together their bases before priming them. Why someone had to tell me this was a good idea without me thinking of it myself I will never know. Comments welcome!

Lots 'o stuff!

I have started my Tale of Lots of 40k Gamers project finally! As you can see here I've been assembling the 5 Stormboyz and Zagstruk first. I am trying to give each guy some unique characteristic. I need to fill in some cracks and spaces with green stuff still and want to green stuff some extra scarves and what not still. The one on the far right is gonna have two grots... so awesome. The one on the left is my favorite. El Bandito!

Zagstruk is an absolutely gigantic model. Here he is in comparison to the Stormboyz.

That's not all I have been working on though! Am getting farther on my commission. I got the skin going pretty well. Still have a couple layers or three of highlighting plus started some of the metals on the weapons. I like doing green first generally. You can just go crazy and let it get on stuff. Some people do the metals first.

As well I more or less finished my Arco Flaggelants for my Sisters of Battle Army. I am making a concerted effort to get them and my guard done. With the new codex for guard coming out I've been getting pretty excited.

What I've been painting lately...

I figured I hadn't posted, but might as well say what I've done in the last bit. Maybe seeing it on paper will make it seem more of an accomplishment.

I painted up one last Veteran Sister Superior and an Eversor Assassin for my Sisters of Battle. It was weird. I had this VSS almost done, yet... unfinished. Was a bit baffling. Also did two plasma gun troopers to accompany my inquisitor

For my guard I painted up my entire command squad: the Officer, Medic, Standard Bearer, 2 plasma gunners and a commissar. My normal configuration for them. As well I just finished up 8 more hardened vets that can second as a Special Weapons team.

I am trying to make sure I am not just painting orks. It's gonna start bogging me down, so need to keep my sanity.

I will take some pictures soon of what I have done and post them.

Next up... time to start the "Tale Of 40k Gamers" stuff!
